A Guide to Making your own Website with your own Customized Address for ₱33
Do you like to start your own blog? Do you want to make money out of it? Do you want to use the line "Please visit my website for more information" as an ender in your job interviews? Well, this guide on the basics of making your own blog website is the perfect note for you. Read on!

Having a website for your own blog is a good way to attract your audience. And tbh, it is so cool! You can even customize it to look like your personal portfolio or an online resume. There are no limitations on what you can do! Freedom at its finest.
There are different ways of starting your own blog. There are lots of free "Blog-Makers" around the net. Owning your own domain beautifies your brand. In this guide, we will use Blogger.com because of its good customizability. The website can be tweaked through HTML and CSS which means an almost full power of customizing for advanced users. It also supports Google AdSense. Will your Blog be qualified to be monetized? How to Qualify?
At the end of this guide you will be able to:
- Make your own blog website
- Learn to buy your own domain (i.e. www.Grapes.fun, www.asdfgdf.com)
- Link your domain to your blog
- Have your own blog web address with your own customized address (Without the blogspot.com at the end)
What you will be needing:
- MasterCard (GCash or Paymaya for convenience)
- Google +
- Blogger Account
- NameCheap.com Account
Let's Start!
- Setting the Brand of your Blog -
Step 1: Name your Blog
Think of a name that you won't regret.
This name will be your brand, it will be your blog.
Make sure it reflects the content you are planning to share.
Step 2: Make the Logo of your Blog
Yes, you need it now.
It will also be your brand, a representation of your own blog.
You can either make it or have someone do it for you. There are a lot of freelancers who do such job for $5 and up. Visit Fiverr or Upwork
Logos can be used as the basis of the color combinations on your website. It shall also be used as your favicon (The little picture beside the name of the website placed on the tabs of a browser)
Step 3: Make the description of your Blog
Think of a description that you won't regret. Although you can change it, Facebook uses your OG description. It is their way of reducing misinformation. When you share your website on FB, this will be the text under the link.

- Buying your own Domain -
Sign-up if you haven't
Setup your payment method. You will be using your MasterCard. GCash or Paymaya may be used for convenience. Name Cheap is a verified corporation registered in the US but if you still doubt your safety, place PHP 100 only on your account.

Step 5: Choose your Domain (The Fun Part)
Search the name of your blog
The prices are stated. Choose one which is within your budget.
Say for example your blog name is "The DCX Blog", you can search for "DCX", "TheDCX" or anything you like. But make sure it is aligned with the name of your blog.
Do not put ".com" when searching for this is what you are actually buying (somehow).
".com" is usually priced high. There are others which are cheap such as ".win" or ".fun" but are unique and interesting.
The prices, as stated are per year, you can set it on auto-renew or not.
Step 6: Buy your Domain
Finalize your purchase by clicking the "View Cart"
Tweak your order here, if you no additional services are purchased then the total payment would be $0.66 which is equal to ₱33
Site improvements may be purchased (For additional costs, obviously)
If you're good to go then click Confirm Order.
A text notification will be sent to you if you used GCash
Congrats! You now have your own web address.

Step 7: Create your Blog
Just Follow the process. Google made it quite simple.
Place your title
For the address, you may place the name of your blog. Just let it have the ".blogspot.com" in the end.
Let's refer to this as the original address: www.theDCXBlog.blogspot.com
This address will be changed later to your purchased domain.
Step 8: Setup your Purchased URL for your Blog
Place the Domain you purchased at NameCheap.com and Don't forget the "www"
Click save then the following will appear.

The data in the Name and Destination columns are important. They will serve as the string that will tie your blog and your domain. There are two sets of partners (www and ghs.google.com) and (kh7eyuasb63z and gv-h4woqiwid5qrif.dv.googlehosted.com). This will be unique for every blog.
Open your NameCheap Account and Manage your domain
Go to the "Advanced DNS" Tab
At the Host Records section, insert the following:
Make sure it is a CNAME Record, the other data will be provided by Google as instructed in Source photo above.
Save all changes.
Wait for few minutes before saving again in Blogger.
Now, let's use "The Notes" website to continue the guide.
This is what appears on my account for a successful process in making The Notes blog.
Something like this will appear when successful.
Go back to your NameCheap account, on the "Domain" tab, tweak on the "Redirect Domain" section.
This means that when people type "thenotes.win" they will automatically be redirected to "http://www.thenotes.win
You can customize your blog through HTML and CSS tweaks at the Theme Section.
